Sale Grammar School 11+ Preparation

Sale Grammar School is a highly regarded selective secondary school located in Sale, Trafford. It is one of six grammar schools in the Trafford Consortium and consistently achieves excellent academic results.

Admission to Sale Grammar School is based on performance in the Trafford 11+ entrance exam, produced by GL Assessment. Children sit papers in Verbal Reasoning, Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and places are offered to the highest-scoring applicants.

Sale Grammar School uses the same GL Assessment exam papers as all other schools in the Trafford Consortium. The exam is sat in September of Year 6 and covers three subjects:

• Verbal Reasoning — language skills, word relationships, comprehension
• Mathematics — problem solving, algebra, geometry, data handling
• Non-Verbal Reasoning — pattern recognition, shape sequences and logical thinking

Registration for the Trafford Consortium exam opens in spring of Year 5. Parents must register through the Trafford Consortium directly — not through Sale Grammar School individually.
